Consignors receive payments approximately 35 days following each auction, provided that purchasers have made their payments. These payments to consignors include detailed statements that itemize the commission and any additional charges that may apply.

Following the auction, you will be sent a post-sale notification detailing the final bid amount. Should the property not sell, you will receive a notification indicating that the property did not meet the reserve price or received no bids.

After agreeing to the consignment of your property, you can either:

1. Bring it yourself

2. Arrange your own shipper for delivery

The consignor and our specialists will establish a minimum reserve price, which is the lowest amount the consignor is willing to accept for the lot. If bids do not meet this price, the lot will not be sold. This amount is confidential, known only to the consignor and our team.

The timeline varies by project. Adequate time is necessary to conduct research, catalog, and photograph items. A consignment deadline or closing date should be established by mutual agreement. This date will be displayed on the homepage of our website, indicating the date of the next auction.

Yes, a premium of 19.5% of the purchaser’s bid will be added to the total price and is due as part of the payment for all unpaid invoices submitted for collection.

Who pays for shipping costs?2024-09-23T17:29:59-05:00

All shipping charges will be paid by the successful bidder. Purchased property must be collected within 14 days following the auction. Property not collected within 14 days of the close of the auction will be subject to a storage fee equal to 1.5% of the hammer price per day. Property not collected within 60 days of the close of the auction will be considered abandoned and any monies paid to Simpson Galleries by the purchaser will be considered liquidated damages.

In case of a dispute, the auctioneer has the authority to decide the winning bidder, and such decision shall be final, or alternatively, to re-offer and re-sell the item in question. Should a dispute arise post-sale, the sales record will be the definitive source of information regarding the identity of the purchaser, the highest bid amount, and all other related matters.
